The VC men's track and field team won the Western State Conference North meet Friday at Cuesta. Leading the way was the strong performance of sophomore Trevor McCarthy. The St. Bonaventure High School product won the 200m in 22.24 and struck gold in the javelin with a throw of 177'10". He also came in second in the 400m and was part of the silver medal-winning 4x400m relay team. For his effort, Trevor is this week's VC Pirate Student Athlete of the Week sponsored by M & M Sports.
