The Eagles scored five of the next six points, however, to knot the score at 12. LAMC came storming back, closing to within 23-20, but a pair of big winners by Behrens held off the Eagles with VC surviving 25-20.
As they had done all evening, the Pirates started the fourth set strong, racing out to a 4-0 lead with winners again by Behrens and Rausch.
