Pirate sophomore AnnMarie Patterson scored three goals Friday in VC's setback against Santa Barbara in the semifinals of the WSC Tournament in Glendora.

The VC women's water polo team fell in the semifinal round of the Western State Conference Tournament Friday against top-seeded Santa Barbara, 21-5. AnnMarie Patterson scored three goals in the effort for Ventura and Kelsee Espitia had a goal with two assists and two drawn exclusions. Ella Montano also scored for VC and grabbed four steals defensively.
The Pirates will play in the third place game on Saturday Nov. 9 at 11:15 am at Citrus College in Glendora. Ventura is looking at a measure of redemption against the Owls as the Pirates dropped a 13-9 decision on Oct. 30.
