
The VC women's tennis team shut out Glendale for the second time this season, 9-0 Tuesday on the road. Lola Tennison teamed up with Chandra Padua to win in No. 2 doubles, and also won in No. 2 singles for the Pirates (5-5, 5-3).
The Pirates lost one game total in three doubles contests. Dulce COntreras and Fernanda Gonzales won 8-0 in the no. 3 slot while Nicole Iannacone and Kira Branson prevailed 8-1 in the No. 1 match. Tennison and Padua also shut out their opponents in No. 2 doubles, 8-0.
Padua was the first to win in singles with a one and love victory in the No. 4 slot. Branson won in No. 3, also by a 6-1, 6-0 score and Contreras captured the No. 5 singles contest, 6-2, 6-0. Iannacone recorded a 6-4, 6-1 triumph in Nbo. 1 singles before Gonzales won on the No. 6 court, 6-1, 6-3. Tennison finished off the sweep with a 6-0, 7-6 (8-6) victory in No. 2 singles.
VC is next scheduled to host Bakersfield on Thursday Mar. 6 at 2:00 pm.
