The VC men's basketball team traveled to Compton on Friday night, dropping an 80-69 decision to the Tartars. Bo Dolinsek was 10-15 from the floor in scoring 22 points and Jeremiah Wilson added 19. Dolinsek and Isaiah Dudley each pulled down nine rebounds in the effort. Kevin Hymes added 12 points and three assists off the bench.
The Pirates trailed 36-27 at halftime and kept things close in the second, but could not overcome the deficit.
VC shot 48 percent (25-52) from the floor and 36 percent from three (4-11), but connected on just half of their free throw attempts (15-30).
Ventura closes their non-conference schedule on Wednesday Dec. 18 at LA Valley with a 6:00 pm tip-off.
