The Pirates' women's soccer team had a sub-par first half Friday, falling at Moorpark 3-0 in Western State Conference North Division play. Lex Sahagian recorded two of VC's three shots on goal in the game while Daisy Vaca also had a shot on target for Ventura (11-3-3,5-2).
The Raiders took control of the match with three first half goals in the fifth, 12th and 29th minutes of play.
The Pirates weathered the storm in the second half but could not find the inside of the net to mount a comeback.
Ventura ended the game with nine total shots while Moorpark recorded five in the game.
VC will look to regroup on Friday Nov. 1 at home against Cuesta. Kickoff is slated for 6:00 pm.
