The VC women's soccer team traveled to Santa Maria Tuesday, coming home with a 4-0 shutout win over Allan Hancock. Lex Sahagian netted a pair of goals in the second half and Jessica Aguilar earned Player o fthe Game Honors with an assist in the triumph. Valeria Lopez and Jazzy Moreno also found the inside of the net for Ventura (13-3-3, 7-2).
The Pirates got out of the blocks quickly when Lopez had a composed goal shot to the lower right corner in the fourth minute of play. Leslie Torres assisted the score for the 1-0 VC advantage.
The game remained tied throughout the remainder of the first half. despite VC outshooting Hancock 6-2.
Moreno made it 2-0 in the 59th minute with a rocket to the upper corner of the goal and Aguilar assisted Sahagian's first score six minutes later. Sahagian finished off the scoring with another goal in the 69th minute to set the final margin.
Ventura ended the game with 16 total shots, 10 on goal, while Hancock was limited to three shots, one on target.
