VC sophomore Guadalupe Magaña has earned first-team All-American honors as selected by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America for the 2013 season.

WOMEN'S SOCCER: The Pirates' women's soccer team played their second straight shutout Friday, blanking Oxnard on the road 2-0 in Western State Conference action. After a scoreless first half, freshman Naomi Jordan scored the game-winner in the 72nd minute with an assist to AJ Tewes. Guadalupe Magaña sealed the victory, finding the back of the net with a free kick in the 83rd. Hailee Powell kept her eighth shutout of the season in goal for the Pirates (11-3-2, 6-2-1).
