VC Soccer Can't Hold Lead in NorCal Finale

Completing its trip to Northern California, the Pirate soccer team could not make its 1-0 early lead hold up at Las Positas College in Livermore. The Hawks scored twice in the second half to defeat the Pirates (2-2), despite Janelle Garcia's score in the 15th minute of the contest.

Completing its trip to Northern California, the Pirate soccer team could not make its 1-0 early lead hold up at Las Positas College in Livermore.  The Hawks scored twice in the second half to defeat the Pirates (2-2), despite Janelle Garcia's score in the 15th minute of the contest.

VC took the early lead in the 15th minute when Jennifere Orozco assisted Garcia's goal.  Ventura had 11 shots in the match, with seven on goal, but they could not punch through the equalizer.

Amy Neidiffer had four saves in goal for VC.

The Pirates return home to host Rio Hondo on Tuesday Sept. 13 at 6:00 pm at the Sportsplex before hosting East Los Angeles on Friday Sept. 23.
