The VC women's soccer team came back with game-tying goals twice on Wednesday night in their 2-2 draw at Santa Barbara City College. Eli Padilla and Daisy Vaca each netted scores for the Pirates in their second tie with the Vaqueros this season.
The Vaqueros broke out early with a score in the third minute of play. Padilla managed to level the score in the 38th minute and the teams closed a competitive and physical first knotted at 1-1.
Santa Barbara broke the tie on a penalty kick in the 59th minute before Vaca pulled Ventura even once again with a thunder strike from 39 yards out in the middle of the field in the 67th.
Ventura (8-4-5, 3-2-3) finished the game with 17 shots, seven on goal.
The Pirates overall had a solid game in a difficult environment with the bench and players on the field giving everything for the result.
VC's next outing will be at Moorpark on Friday Oct. 27. Kickoff is slated for 4:00 pm.
