Ventura College sophomore Anna Escobar scored on a penalty kick in the 76th minute to level the score at 1-1, preserving a draw for the Pirates' women's soccer team at Moorpark Tuesday afternoon. VC (9-4-3, 4-2-1) trailed Moorpark following the Raiders' 46th minute goal after a scoreless first half at Raider Pitch.
The Pirates had 13 shots in the contest with seven on goal. Ventura goalie Aracely Castro had two saves on the day.
Ventura next travels to Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria for a 4:00 pm game on Friday Nov. 1.
