The VC women's soccer team completed a successful trip to the Bay Area Saturday with a 1-0 victory at Hartnell in Salinas. Karen Saldana scored the lone goal for the Pirates (4-1) and Isa Garcia posted her second straight shutout in goal.
Saldana netted her score in the 31st minute of play as she converted a pass from Alondra Sanchez for the goal.
The Pirate defense dominated the 2022 Coast Conference North Division champions as the Panthers did not record a shot on goal in the match. Offensively, VC had four shots on target.
Ventura next travels to Whittier on Thursday Sept. 14 to take on Rio Hondo College.
