Ventura College head women's soccer coach, Steve Hoffman is pleased to announce that 2005-06 team captain and VC alumna Breanne Blankenburg has joining the Pirates' coaching staff for 2014. Breanne played for the Pirates in the 2005 and 2006 seasons leading the team to the Western State Conference Championship both years, and her teams also played in the CCCAA regional playoffs. Breanne captained the team both seasons, appearing in 48 games for the Pirates. She was selected All-Western State Conference both seasons.
Breanne will step into as an assistant coach and fill the position that opened up when Pirate alumna Alysa Quiroz left the program to enter the police academy.
Breanne played four years of varsity for soccer at Ventura High School before playing for Ventura College. Breanne also coached the Ventura High School Junior Varsity team for six years.
Coach Hoffman believes Breanne will bring a passion and desire, and a great personality to the program. She will be a fantastic role model for the women both on and of the field. He knows she will be a great addition the coaching staff.
"I wish it (Ventura College) was a four year program," siad Blankenburg. "I enjoyed playing here so much. The competition was fantastic and I made friends for life."
