The Pirate softball team dropped a pair of games Saturday to close out the Glendale Tournament. VC fell to San Diego Mesa 17-36 in five innings before falling short against Modesto, 10-7. Jennie Jacinto had five hits on the day with two runs batted in and two runs scored. Raylene Reyes recorded four hits and Savanna Higgins hit a home run in the night cap.
Ventura 3, San Diego Mesa 17
The Pirates dropped the morning game against the Olympians. J. Jacinto was 2-3 at the plate wih a double and two RBI and Reyes also recorded a pair of hits. Jade Loeffler was 1-1 with a walk and Alyssa Jacinto also had a base hit for Ventura.
Ventura 7, Modesto 10
J. Jacinto went 3-4 in the game with a pair of runs scored while Reyes also crossed the plate twice on two hits. Higgins was 1-3 with a two-run home run and Victoria Rodriguez was 3-3 with a double and two RBI. Chelsea Trejo batted 2-2 with a walk.
VC next travels to Victor Valley on Wednesday Jan. 31. The Pirates are scheduled for their home opener on Tuesday Feb. 6 against Citrus at 1:00 pm.
