Anissa Padilla had a very good day. The sophomore pitcher for the Pirate softball team did not allow a hit over five innings, striking out five as Ventura defeated Oxnard 9-0 on the road Thursday afternoon. Adriana Clemons was 4-4 at the plate with four runs batted in and Samantha Gonzalez was 2-4 with an RBI for VC (13-5, 3-1).
Kayla Garcia, Angelina Flores and Brittney Banales all had one RBI each and Sophie Dahlstedt knocked out a double in the Pirate win over the Condors.
Ventura begins an eight-game home stand on Friday March 16 with a 2:00 pm game against San Diego Mesa College.
