The Ventura College softball team fell at Santiago Canyon College in Orange on Tuesday by a final score of 17-2. Brittany Perez had a pair of hits for VC with an RBI and a run scored. Farris Burke also had two hits in the game.
Ventura took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning when Perez singled to left field to score Mariah Gamboa. The Hawks responded with the big inning, putting up 11 runs in the bottom half of the frame to take control.
VC plated their second run in the fourth inning when Claira Lozano doubled down the third-base line to score Perez.
Ventura will travel to the Inland Empire to play in the Mt. San Jacinto College Tournament Feb. 14 and 15.
