
VC sophomore Kayla Garcia was 3-3 with a walk and a double at the plate, and pitched seven innings and allowed just three runs in the Pirates' 4-3 win at Santa Monica Thursday.

The Pirate softball team outlasted the hosts Santa Monica College Corsairs Thursday afternoon, posting a 4-3 Western State Conference North Division victory on the road. Kayla Garcia went the distance in the pitcher's circle, and was 3-3 at the plate with a walk and a double with one run batted in. Marisa Felix had a 2-run home run for Ventura (15-12, 7-2). Kali Brown was 2-4 with a double and an RBI.
Adriana Clemons was the other Pirate with a hit, collecting a single in the victory.
Ventura travels to Pasadena on Friday March 29 for a non-conference tilt.
