
The Ventura College softball team is headed to the CCCAA Southern California Regional Playoffs. The Pirates (22-16) received the No. 18 seed and will head to No. 15 Southwestern College (25-14) on Tuesday for the play-in round. This is the fourth straight season Ventura has qualified for postseason play.
The Pirates enter the post season with an overall record of 22-16. They finished second in the Western State Conference North Division with a 13-3 mark, three games behind No. 10 Bakersfield.
The Jaguars, meanwhile, come into the game with a 25-14 record overall. They finished in a tie for runner-up position in the Pacific Coact Conference with No. 13 San Diego Mesa at 13-3. No. 3 Palomar won the conference at 15-1.
If the Pirates win on Tuesday, they will head to No. 1 Mt. San Antonio on Friday May 3 to begin a best two of three series.
