
The VC golf team posted its lowest score of the year, a combined 8-over 368, Monday at Rancho Vista Golf Club in Palmdale. The mark was good for a second place finish in the Western State Conference No. 7 match. Logan Gonzalez was the low man for the Pirates with an outstanding 1-under 71 on the day, tying for third overall.
Behind Gonzales, the Pirates had a solid day overall with Nick Bublitz, Daniel Darwin and Brandon Flores all carding a 2-over 74 to tie for sixth individually. Ian Chapital had a 3-over 75 while Matthew Fisher was one stroke behind with a 4-over 76.
VC finished second as a team, three strokes behind Canyons and four ahead of Santa Barbara.
The Pirates continue conference play on Monday April 14 at San Dimas Country Club at the event hosted by Citrus College.
