The VC golf team collectively shot a 377 Monday, good for fourth place in the Western State Conference event hosted by Citrus College at San Dimas Canyon Golf Course. AJ Ryland went low for the Pirates with an even par 72 to place seventh followed by Ian Chapital with a 2-over 74, good for a tie for eighth.
VC finished 17 strokes behind Canyons, who posted a team score of 360 to win the event. Santa Barbara was second at 371 and Citrus was third at 375 in the close contest behind the Cougars.
Logan Gonzalez and Daniel Darwin each carded a 3-over 75 to tie for 12th place overall. Meanwhile, John Burns and Brandon Flores shot 81 and 88, respectively, for the Pirates.
Ventura makes a quick turnaround, heading to Rancho Vista Golf Course in Palmdale for the WSC event hosted by College of the Canyons on Wednesday April 17.
