It wasn't exactly a huge competition, but six VC golfers and two players from Allan Hancock College teed up on Monday at Santa Maria Country Club in the Pirate golf team's first competition in over a year. Evan Colborn shot a 5-over 77 to lead the way for Ventura and Ryan Gonzalez made his debut for the orange and black with a score of 79.
Other Ventura scores included Steen Zeman, 80, Kaden Santos, 81, Kyle Okuhara, 84, and Eric Burschinger, 89.
The Pirates claimed the match ogainst the host Bulldogs as AHC fielded just two players on the day.
Ventura will return to the course at the Western State Conference match No. 2 at Bakersfield Country Club on Monday April 19.
