VC Golf 4th at WSC-Bakersfield

The Pirate golf team faced difficult scoring conditions at Rio Bravo Country Club in Bakersfield Monday and came out with a team score of 403, good for fourth place in the Western State Conference event hosted by Bakersfield College. Jonas Slattum led Ventura with a 7-over 79 to tie for eighth place individually on the day and Martin Alvarez tied for 13th with an 80. 

Canyons won the team event with a score of 389 followed by Santa Barbara at 394. Bakersfield was third on their home course at 399, four strokes ahead of the Pirates.

AJ Ryland and Zack Garboski each carded an 81 for Ventura while Elijah Delsi turned in an 82 and Nicolai Cascione shot an 83.

The Pirates next tee off at Olivas Links Golf Course in Ventura on Monday April 10 at the WSC event hosted by College of the Canyons.
