
The VC golf team had its 2024 season come to a close at the 3C2A Southern California Regionals Sunday and Monday in Bakersfield. The Pirates shot a 390-403, 793 in the 36-hole event at Rio Bravo Country Club over the two days to finish seventh in the nine-team field. Daniel Darwin went low for Ventura at 9-over par for the two rounds, carding a 77-76, 153.
Behind Darwin, Logan Gonzalez (76-82) and AJ Ryland (77-81) each posted a two-round score of 158 while Brandon Flores shot an 82-80, 162. Ian Chapital's 81-84, 165 and Hunter McCoy's 79-100, 179 rounded out the Pirate scores.
Canyons won the event posting a 373-380, 753 and Cypress was second at 381, 376, 757. Cuyamaca (382-375, 757) and Santa Barbara (384-384, 768) rounded out the teams that qualified for the 3C2A State Championships on May 12-13.
The Pirates end the season with an overall record of 67-54 in their 16 events.
