Paige Treloar-Ballard has been a spark for the Pirates' women's water polo team all season. Her 82 goals and 60 steals on the season leads the Western State Conference as the season winds towards its conclusion. This past weekend, she scored four goals with three exclusions drawn and two steals in VC's first game at the Battle of the Beach Tournament before suffering an injury in the Pirates' second game on Friday. She still had a goal, an assist and three steals in Ventura's victory over Cuesta Friday, and was able to play through the injury on Saturday as VC split in its four games at the state's toughest tournament. Paige, a freshman from Foothill Technology High School, has been named this week's VC Pirate Student Athlete of the Week.
