The women's basketball team is back in first place in the Western State Conference North Division, due in large part to the play of Brooke Zamora. The freshman from Royal High School who worked her way into the starting line-up early in the season is the Pirates' leading scorer in conference play, netting 12.6 points per contest. Brooke, a Royal High School product, has hit 69 percent of her 3-point attempts in WSC action and is also pulling in 5.6 rebounds per game, as well. Last week she had 14 and 10 points in wins over Santa Barbara and Oxnard, respectively. Brooke is this week's VC Pirate Student Athlete of the Week sponsored by Pacific Aire Heating and Cooling.
