2013 Women's Water Polo Honored by CCCAAFebruary 17, 2015The California Community College Athletic Association has announced its academic awards for the 2013-14 year, and the Ventura College women's water polo team has been awarded the CCCAA State Scholar Team Award for the 2013 season. The 14 members of the team achieved a combined grade point average of 3.25 for the fall 2013 semester with an average of 14.7 units per student.

Loya and McWaid First-Team All-WSC for WPoloDecember 23, 2014Sophomores Cecily Loya and Brittany McWaid have been named first team All-Western State Conference. They are joined by five other teammates in post-season honors selected by the conference coaches at a meeting last month.

The Pirates (10-12, 3-2) fell to Palomar in the 8:00 am breakfast special 12-5 before dropping their third match of the year to Chaffey, 8-4 in the finale.

The Pirates defeated East Los Angeles 12-3 in the opener before falling to Chaffey 10-3 in the nightcap. Christina Tellez and Melissa Robles each scored four goals on the day for VC (1-1).
