Patrick Holden shot an excellent round of 1-under par to lead the Pirates to a third place finish at the Western State Conference event at Santa Maria Country Club Monday.

Led by Patrick Holden's best round of the year, a 1-under par 71, propelled the Ventura College golf team to a third place finish at the Western State Conference event hosted by Allan Hancock College at Santa Maria Country Club Monday. VC carded a team score of 382, behind Canyons (368) and Santa Barbara (369).
Other Pirate scores included Greg Brown (75), Matthew Thomas (77), Alex Hood (79), Emil Ozeke (80) and Remy Smaby (82).
VC will travel to Glendora Country Club on Monday April 6 to the WSC event hosted by Citrus College.
