Playing in the Ventura area for the second straight week, the Pirate golf team posted their second-best score of the season, behind last week's home tournament, shooting a 378 in the SoCal Preview at Olivas Links Golf Course. Ventura placed seventh of 18 teams in the non-conference event. Individually, VC had two players post red numbers as Emil Ozeke had his second-straight 1-under 71 and Alex Hood matched that score.
Other individual scores included Greg Brown with a 2-over 74 and Remy Smaby at 80. Patrick Holden posted an 82, and Matthew Thomas received a disqualification for signing an incorrect scorecard.
The Pirates next travel to Antelope Valley Country Club for the Western State Conference event on Monday March 23.
