The Pirate golf team finished fifth of 10 teams at the Victor Valley Invitational Monday at Spring Valley Lake Country Club in Victorville. Riverside won the event with a score of 191 in the best-ball event while VC posted a 209.
Remy Smaby and Matthew Thomas shot a team low 66 while Greg Brown and Alex Hood had a 70. Patrick Holden and Emil Ozeke shot a 73. Spring Valley Lake is a 6,535-yard par-72 course.
The Pirates will open Western State Conference play on Monday Feb. 9 at Valencia Country Club at an event hosted by College of the Canyons.
