The Ventura College men golf team traveled to the high desert for the WSC-Antelope Valley contest hosted at Antelope Valley Country Club. Despite the 35 mile an hour gusts making for difficult play the Pirates were able to bring home a second place finish. Ventura was topped by Emil Ozeke who fired a team low 78 in the windy conditions.
Ventura fired a team total of 413 on the day good for second place behind College of the Canyons who fired a team total of 394. VC was in a third place tie with Antelope Valley. Ozeke's round of 78 was good for a fourth overall finish, it was the lone round of 79 or lower shot by a VC golfer.
Alex Hood was the second lowest total for the Pirates on the day with a round of 82. Brandon Resnick and Kyle Dollison tied at 85 as the next lowest scorers for the VC team.
Ventura will take part in the next Western State Conference match on Monday Mar. 28 when they will travel to Santa Maria to play at Santa Maria Country Club for the match to be hosted by Allan Hancock College. Tee off is set for 10:30 am.
