Lacanilao and Mukhar Transferring to Johnson and Wales University
March 18, 2016Ventura College outside hitter, Brittney Mukhar and defensive specialist Cassandra Lacanilao have announced their intention to play volleyball and attend Johnson and Wales University in Denver, Colorado. -
Women's Volleyball Places Seven on All-Conference Teams.
December 01, 2015Ventura College women's volleyball team enjoyed tremendous success as a team in 2015. The program was rewarded by the Western State Conference north division coaches by having seven players honored with All-Conference honors. Sophomore Cassandra Lacanilao and Freshmen Paris Dosch topped the Pirates as All-Conference First team selections. -
VC Volleyball Falls in Three in Playoff Action
November 24, 2015Ventura College volleyball fell to College of the Canyons in the opening round of the SoCal Regional Playoffs, 25-21,25-18,25-20 on Tuesday night. Brittney Mukhar finished with 10 kills, four digs and an ace in the match. Armonee Hunter added nine kills for the Pirates. Jaimelene Salgado dished out 32 assists and picked up eight digs. -
Women's Volleyball Earns Return Trip to Playoffs
November 21, 2015For the second consecutive season, the Pirate volleyball team has earned a trip to the SoCal Regional Playoffs. Ventura (18-7) is seeded No. 13 and will travel to No. 4 Canyons (22-2) on Tuesday Nov. 24 for a 6:00 pm match in Santa Clarita. -
Volleyball Falls in Four Sets to Santa Barbara
November 13, 2015Ventura College women's volleyball falls to No. 2-ranked Santa Barbara City College in four sets (16-25, 25-18, 25-16, 25-19). Brittney Mukhar excelled for the Pirate with 16 kills and 16 digs in the match. Jaimelene Salgado dished out 45 assists for the Pirates with Cassandra Lacanilao picking up 20 digs. -
Pirates Down Moorpark in Four Sets.
November 11, 2015Ventura College women's volleyball team traveled to Moorpark College and picked up a four set victory over the Raiders. Ventura was paced by Armonee Hunter and Paris Dosch with 15 kills a piece. Tori Hiott and Brittney Mukhar each added 10 kills. Jaimelene Salgado dished out 45 assists. -
Pirate Volleyball Knocks of Allan Hancock in Five
November 06, 2015Traveling to Santa Maria Ventura College women's volleyball team was pushed to the max, but were able to claim a five set victory 28-26 25-27 25-21 25-27 15-10. Armonee Hunter had a huge game offensively for the Pirates with 21 kills. Brittney Mukhar and Paris Dosch both had double digit kills. Jaimelene Salgado had 47 assists and 15 digs in the win. -
Pirates Volleyball Drops Match to No. 1 LA Pierce in Four Sets
November 04, 2015Ventura College women's volleyball team hosted No. 1-ranked Los Angeles Pierce College dropping the match in four sets (15-25, 22-25, 25-21, 20-25). Libero Cassandra Lacanilao collected 35 digs, two assists, three kills and one ace. Brittney Mukhar had 10 kills and 12 digs with an ace. Tori Hiott added five aces in the match. -
Pirate Volleyball Earns Four-Set Win
October 30, 2015Traveling to San Luis Obispo, the Ventura College Women's Volleyball team picked up a four set win over Cuesta College Friday night, 25-22 13-25 25-23 25-21. Brittney Mukhar stood out for the Pirates with 16 kills, 10 digs, three aces and one block. Jaimelene Salgado dished out 47 assists to the VC hitters. Armonee Hunter picked up 10 kills with Tori Hiott adding 12 kills. -
Pirates Volleyball Sweeps Their Way to Conference Win
October 28, 2015Ventura College women's volleyball returned home to face Los Angeles Mission College and swept their way to conference win (26-24, 25-20, 25-17). Armonee Hunter had 12 kills and one block for the Pirates in the victory. Paris Dosch added nine kills, three digs and one block. Jaimelene Salgado dished out 35 assists and collected eight digs. -
Pirates Volleyball Falls in Four against No. 2-Ranked SBCC
October 21, 2015Heading on the road to Santa Barbara to take on the No. 2-ranked Vaqueros Pirates women's volleyball dropped the match in four sets 21-25, 15-25, 25-23, 19-25. In the defeat Ventura had two hitters with double digit kills, Brittney Mukhar and Paris Dosch. Jaimelene Salgado dished out 38 assists for the Pirates attack. -

October 16, 2015No. 12-ranked Ventura College women's volleyball played host to Moorpark College Friday night dropping the match in three sets 25-18, 25-20, 25-16. Paris Dosch had eight kills and two blocks. While Cassandra Lacanilao collected 17 digs to pace the Pirates defensive effort. -
Pirates Sweep Their Way to Conference Win
October 14, 2015No.-11 in So Cal and No.-18 in State rankings, Ventura College women's volleyball played host to Allan Hancock College Wednesday night. The Pirates collected a three game swep to pick up the win 25-18, 25-10, 25-17. Paris Dosch collected 12 kills, four digs and one block. Mikayla Spears had 22 assists in the match. -

October 09, 2015In a battle of ranked women's volleyball teams the State No. 20-ranked Pirates pushed the No. 1 Los Angeles Pierce Brahamas to four sets before falling on Friday night in Woodland Hills. Brittney Mukhar picked up 14 kills and six digs in the match, while Mikayla Spears and Jaimelene Salgado had 17 and 13 assists, respectively. -
Pirates overcome early deficit to down Cougars in four games
October 07, 2015Continuing Western State Conference play the Pirate volleyball team dropped the first set 21-25, but rallied back to win the next three 25-23, 25-14 and 25-14 to claim a 3-1 victory over visiting Cuesta Wednesday night. Tori Hiott picked up 17 kills, six digs and three blocks. Brittney Mukhar served up five aces to go with eight kills and 12 digs. -
Volleyball Sweeps WSC Opener at LA Mission
October 02, 2015Led by Brittney Mukhar's double-double and 13 kills from Paris Dosch, the Pirate volleyball team swept its Western Conference opener at Los Angeles Mission College, 25-14, 25-21, 25-11 in San Fernando Friday evening. Ranked No. 12 in Southern California, VC posted its 12th victory of the season, equaling its win total from 2014 with virtually the entire conference season remaining. -
Spikers Continue Hot Streak Headed to WSC Play
September 30, 2015The Ventura College volleyball team continued their strong play, closing out the non-conference portion of their schedule with a sweep of visiting Antelope Valley College Wednesday night at the Athletic Event Center. Led by Paris Dosch's eight kills, the Pirates, ranked No. 12 in Southern California and No. 22 in the state, posted scores of 25-20, 25-14, 25-13 in the victory. -
Lacanilao Aces Pirate Volleyball Past West LA
September 25, 2015Sophomore libero Cassandra Lacanilao served up 11 aces Friday in VC's three-set victory at West Los Angeles in Culver City. The Rio Mesa product also had a team-high 16 digs as the SoCal No. 15-ranked Pirates prevailed 25-9, 25-10, 25-17 to move to 10-2 on the year. -
Dosch Named Western State Conference Female AoW
September 22, 2015Ventura College freshman middle blocker Paris Dosch is the Week #3 Western State Conference Female Athlete of the Week. Dosch earned the honors after leading the Pirates to a 3-0 week with wins over the likes of Pasadena City College, Santa Monica College, and Fullerton College. -

Volleyball Outlasts Pasadena For Road Victory
September 16, 2015The Ventura College volleyball team came from behind to claim a five-set victory at Pasadena City College Wednesday, 25-22, 24-26, 22-25, 25-19, 15-8. Paris Dosch had a strong outing at the net, claiming a team-high 19 kills while posting a .421 hitting percentage. Mikayla Spears handed out 51 assists in the victory for VC (7-2). -
Volleyball Splits Final Two Matches of Mesa College Invitational
September 12, 2015Continuing to play without its two top setters, the Pirate volleyball team split a pair of matches Saturday to conclude the Mesa College Invitational in San Diego. Ventura swept Cerro Coso 25-8, 25-10, 25-21 before falling in a close sweep to rival Moorpark 25-21, 25-20, 26-24. -
Spikers Fall to Grossmont in San Diego Mesa Tourney
September 11, 2015The Pirate volleyball team tasted defeat for the first time this season, falling to Grossmont College 25-14, 15-18, 25-14 in the first round of the Mesa College Invitational in San Diego Friday evening. What could have been a solid measuring stick for the upstart Pirates against one of SoCal's top teams did not materialize as VC played without both of its leading setters. -
Spikers Move to 5-0 With Two Victories at Quad
September 05, 2015The Ventura College volleyball team moved its record to 5-0 with a pair of sweeps at the Pierce College Quad in Woodland Hills Saturday. VC defeated Glendale 25-18, 25-15, 25-21 before downing Butte College 25-23, 25-15, 25-20. Brittney Mukhar led the Pirates with 21 kills on the day and Mikayla Spears handed out 27 assists in the two matches. -
Pirates Move to 3-0 With Win Over Long Beach
September 02, 2015A year ago the Pirate volleyball team qualified for the post-season with some strong non-conference victories. On Wednesday night they recorded another with a 25-15, 25-17, 22-25, 25-18 victory over visiting Long Beach City College at the Athletic Event Center to move to 3-0 on the young season. Paris Dosch had a strong night in the middle with 14 kills and a pair of blocks to lead Ventura. -
Volleyball Opens 2015 With Sweep of VC Kick-Off Quad
August 29, 2015The Pirate volleyball team picked up where they left off a year ago, claiming a pair of straight-set victories in the VC Kick-Off Quad at the Athletic Event Center Friday. Ventura defeated Imperial Valley 25-16, 25-15, 25-15 and won the nightcap against Los Angeles Trade Tech 25-10, 25-9, 25-11.
