Ventura College women's volleyball team enjoyed tremendous success as a team in 2015. The program was rewarded by the Western State Conference north division coaches by having seven players honored with All-Conference honors. Sophomore Cassandra Lacanilao and Freshmen Paris Dosch topped the Pirates as All-Conference First team selections.
Lacanilao was rewarded for her solid year as the Pirates libero which saw her finish second in the conference in total digs, while additionally finishing second in the conference in digs per game. Dosch was one of three Pirate freshmen players selected for honors. Her stellar freshmen season anchoring the middle of the Pirates front row, saw her finish second in the conference in hitting percentage.
Sophomore Brittney Mukhar was one of three Pirates named to the Second team. Mukhar finished fifth in the conference in total kills fronting the VC offensive attack, but her contributions were not solely on offense, as she finished 12th in the conference in total digs. Sophomore Tori Hiott also a member of the Second team finished 19th in total digs, 15th in total kills and seventh in service aces per set in route to her honors. Finally, Armonee Hunter was the third member of the Pirates to earn Second team honors for her offensive and defensive performance in her freshmen campaign. Hunter finished 10th in the conference in kills, while ranking 23rd in the conference in blocks per set and tops on the Pirates front row.
Two members of the So Cal No. 13-ranked Pirates were picked by the coaches of the WSC-north to represent VC on the Honorable Mention squad. Sophomore Jaimelene Salgado who was third in the conference in assists per set. Freshmen Jessica Gomez joined Salgado on the honorable mention team after a stellar all around season.
Ventura which qualified for So Cal playoffs for the second year in a row under third year head coach Brad Lyans appears well stocked for the future with three returning all-conference selections.
