The VC men's water polo team placed four players on the All-Western State Conference first-team as selected by conference coaches in November. Transfer sophomore Andre Galvez leads the list of Pirate honorees, along with sophomore Zane Herman and freshmen Jaeger Gonzales and Christian Scanlan. Ventura finished as runner-up in the WSC in 2021, its best finish since 2013.
Galvan, who came to VC via the University of the Pacific in Stockton, is a Moorpark High School product while Herman came to Ventura from Oxnard High School. Gonzales is also a Moorpark High alumnus and Scanlan is a Westlake High School grad.
Anthony Ibarra (Rio Mesa HS) and Janson Cunningham (Lemoore HS) earned second-team All-WSC accolades while Alexis Nava (Pacifica HS) and Benjamin Sweet (Moorpark HS) were Honorable Mention all-conference.
