
The VC men's water polo team fell to their Alumni counterparts on Saturday 18-11 in a contest at the Ventura Aquatic Center. Daniel Amorim led the current Pirates with eight goals in the match.
The old guys were on the offensive from the onset, taking a 3-2 lead after one quarter. They outscored the current Pirates 5-2 in the second to take control of the match. Amorin scored three times for the Pirates in the third period, but the alumni still outscored VC 7-4, taking a commanding 15-8 advantage into the final eight minutes.
Trevor Edwards, Dominic Tassano and Alejandro Astudillo also scored goals for Ventura (1-7).
The Pirates will host Los Angeles Valley on Wednesday Oct. 1 before heading north to the American River College Tournament in Sacramento Oct. 3-4.
