The VC men's tennis team blanked Santa Barbara City College 9-0 Thursday in Western State Conference play at the VC Tennis Center. Santino Serralonga had one of many solid performances with a victory in No. 2 doubles with Valentino Oggero and a straight-sets win in his No. 2 singles match. Oggero, Jinsei Tajima and Philemon Jabin also were double winners for the Pirates (3-0, 2-0).
Serralonga and Oggero had an easy time in their No. 2 doubles, match, winning 8-1. Tajima and Jabin posted an 8-4 triumph in No. 1 doubles and VC won the No. 3 slot by default.
In singles, Serralonga claimed his No. 2 match 6-4, 6-1 while Tajima won at No. 1, 6-1, 6-1. Jabin got his second win of the day in No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-0 and Oggero won the No. 5 match, 6-2, 6-1. Lucas Abreau marched to a 6-0, 6-1 victory in No. 4 singles and the Pirates won the No. 6 slot by default.
VC next hosts Saddleback College in a non-conference tilt on Friday Feb. 10 at 2:00 pm.
