The VC women's basketball team's playoff journey continues on Wednesday March 4 as the Pirates (26-5) will host the Palomar College Comets (25-3) in a CCCAA SoCal Semifnal contest at 7:00 pm at the Athletic Event Center. The game will be webcast live on the VC Sports Network.
No. 4-seed Ventura defeated No. 13 Fullerton 67-60 on Friday to advance while No. 5 Palomar triumphed over No. 13 Long Beach 51-45 on Saturday in San Marcos.
Doors will open to the AEC on Wednesday at 6:00 pm, with the ticket booth opening at 5:45 pm. Ticket prices, set by the CCCAA, will be $10 for general admission and $7 for identified students, faculty, staff, senior citizens age 60 and over, and children less than 12 years of age. Only CCCWBCA, CCCADA and CCCAA Life Passes will be honored.
The Pirates, 25-peat champion of the Western State Conference North Division, are one of the hottest teams in the state, winning their last 18 games. Palomar, meanwhile, the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference champion, has been in the Top-4 of the SoCal rankings nearly all season before receiving the No. 5 seed for the playoffs.
The winner will advance to the state Elite Eight, and will play in the SoCal Regional Final on Saturday March 7 at No. 1 Mt. San Antonio or at home against No. 8 Cypress.
