The VC men's tennis team is well represented on the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's CCCAA All-American team. Jinsei Tajima and Santino Serralonga each earned All-American nods in singles play for the 2023 season while Tajima and Philemon Jabin were named All-Americans in doubles.
Tajima posted a mark of 20-2 in singles play, 14-0 in dual matches as the Pirates' No. 1 player. The sophomore from Nakayoma, Japan only losses came against Serralonga in the Wester State Conference finals and in the state quarterfinal round at The Ojai Tournament.
Serralonga, meanwhile, produced a 19-1 record overall, 13-0 in dual matches. A sophomore out of Buenos Aires, Argentina, he won the WSC singles title and dropped his only match of the season in the quarterfinals of The Ojai.
Tajima and Jabin (Brussels, Belgium) were the Pirates' top doubles pair all season, going 18-2 overall and 11-1 in dual matches. The two sophomores won the WSC doubles crown and advanced to the championship match of The Ojai before falling as state runners-up.
As a team, the Pirates were 15-1 overall and they completed their second straight undefeated regular season campaign. The won the WSC for the second straight year and the sixth time in the past seven seasons, advancing to the Southern California Regional Finals for the second consecutive year.
