Playing at home the Ventura College men's tennis team downed Glendale College by a 9-0 score. The Pirates used some new players in doubles play and swept all three contests. As well, VC did not drop a set while sweeping singles play with Hironori Koyanagi not dropping a point at No. 2 singles. Evan Gazic played at No. 4 singles and won without dropping a point.
Ventura (9-0, 6-0) continued their dominant season with an impressive win over Glendale. Hamilton Walker and Charles Oehmke teamed up at No. 1 doubles for a 8-4 win. This was the first competitive match for either player in the 2016 season. Gazic and Diego Rodrigues were winners on both the singles and doubles side of play. Gazic played at No. 3 doubles and No. 4 singles with Rodrigues playing at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles. Koyanagi and Corey Karen were winners at No. 2 singles and No. 1 singles respectively.
The Pirates are now headed to Woodland Hills on Thursday Mar. 17 for a 2:00 pm match up with Los Angeles Pierce College. Then on Friday Mar. 18 and Saturday Mar. 19 VC will take part in the North/South challenge in Fresno.
