The VC men's tennis team traveled for the first time this season, dropping a close 5-4 decision at San Diego Mesa Thursday afternoon. Hironori Koyanagi was the Pirates' only double-winner, prevailing in No. 1 singles and with Corey Karen in No. 1 doubles.
VC also won in No. 2 doubles with Ali Bougzoul and Michael Burr, and in No. 3 doubles with Matheus Montero and Leonardo Santos.
Ventura will return home on Friday Feb. 13 against Grossmont College at 4:00 pm at Camino Real Park.
