
All-State Ventura College guard Elijah Brown has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue his academic and athletic careers at Cal State university San Bernardino next year. The sophomore from Newark, NJ was the Western State Conference North Division Most Valuable Player and one of just 11 players from Southern California to be named first-team All-State.
Brown led the Pirates to a share of the WSC North Division championship for the second time in the past four years, the program's 20th title overall. VC also qualified for the post-season for the fourth time in the past five seasons. he led the Pirates scoring 20.8 points per game while playing in all 29 of VC's contests this season. He shot 50.0 percent from the floor on the year, including 36.6 percent from long range. He also made 80.7 percent of his free throw attempts. Additionally, Brown averaged 4.4 rebounds and 4.0 steals per outing.
Cal State San Bernardino is an NCAA Division II school that plays in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. The Coyotes are led by for VC assistant and Buena High School Product Jeff Oliver who is the winningest coach in CSUSB program history.
