Ventura College sophomores Vondel Faniel and Eric Davis have both been named first-team All-Western State Conference North Division in voting by conference coaches on Sunday.
Faniel, who prepped at William Knight High School in Palmdale, averaged a double-double for the season, scoring 12.2 points with 10.1 rebounds per game. In WSC play, he improved that production to 14.6 points and 12.5 boards per outing.
Davis, a Pacifica High School product, netted 7.4 points per contest while pulling 5.9 rebounds.
Pirate head coach Joey Ramirez was pleased with the awards, pointing out that the players were selected by the other coaches in the conference.
"The thing I like the most about these selections is that we can't vote for our own (players) #respectisearned," Ramirez posted on twitter Sunday.
