After three years away, the Western State Conference men's and women's singles and doubles tennis championships are returning to the VC Tennis Center. Action will commence on Thursday March 31 beginning with women's singles play at 2:00 pm while men's singles begins Friday April 1 at 10:00 am. An opening ceremony along with presentation of all-conference awards will take place on the championship courts at 9:00 am on Friday April 1.
The Pirate men, who won the WSC's team title for the 21st time in 2022, completing an undefeated regular season. Leading VC in singles play is No. 2-seed Philemon Jabin and No. 4 seed Brodie Sodersten.
In men's doubles, the Pirate duo of Sodersten and Sam Ashbrook have earned the draw's top seed.
On the women's side, Ventura's Hanna Dever earned the No. 9 seed and will get a bye into the round of 32 of Friday.
The Ventura women's doubles team of Dever and Victoria Zegers are the No. 7 seed and will also begin play in Friday.
Championships for the WSC men's and women's singles and doubles tournaments will be held on Friday April 8.
