Ventura College freshman transfer Alex Kalmbach has signed a scholarship to continue her academic and athletic careers at NCAA Division I Pepperdine University this fall. Kalmbach, who transferred to VC from Oregon State where she redshirted in 2014-15, will have three years of eligibility with the Waves of the West Coast Conference.
Kalmbach overcame injuries and illness in a difficult season to score 6.2 points with 4.5 rebounds per game for the Pirates this past season. She also handed out 2.0 assists per outing in helping VC to a 26-5 overall mark and a perfect 12-0 Western State Conference record, winning the program's 26th consecutive conference crown.
Kalmbach prepped state powerhouse at Bishop O'Dowd High School in the Bay Area.
