The VC golf team had a strong showing Wednesday at the Eagle Golf Classic hosted by Mt. San Jacinto College at the par-72 Soboba Springs Country Club. Sophomore Brandon Resnick carded a 3-under 69 to claim overall medalist honors and the Pirates finished third as a team in the 15-team event.
Riverside won the event with a team score of 367 followed by Orange Coast in second at 372. Ventura was a close third, just a stroke behind OCC at 373.
Other VC individual scores included Joey Herrera at even-par 72, Connor Philpott at 76, Denis Kakimoto at 77, Adam Franc at 79 and Kevin Leblanc at 83.
The Pirates are next scheduled to open Western State Conference action at Alisal Ranch GC in Solvang on Monday Feb. 20 in a contest hosted by Santa Barbara City College.
