VC Athletics 13th in California in NATYCAA CupAugust 12, 2024The Ventura College Athletic Department claimed its 14th Top-13 finish in 19 years, placing 13th in California in the 2023-24 all-sports National Association of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA) Cup standings. Pirate Athletics totaled 106 points overall, besting its 105.5 points earned in 2022-23 that placed 12th. Ventura was also 17th for the second straight year in the Daktronics Cup Standings with two-years schools from California, Oregon and Washington.

VC Lists 70 transfers to 4-Year SchoolsAugust 01, 2024The Ventura College Athletic Department is proud to announce the transfer of 71 student athletes to four-year schools following their time with the Pirates. 48 of those transfers plan to continue their sport with 34 earning athletic scholarships. The VC class of 2024 will transfer to 48 different schools in 19 different states across the country. Additionally, 17 of the Pirate alumni have earned academic scholarships at their new schools.

Jacobus, Montano Shine for Pirates at State MeetMay 04, 2024VC sophomore Ayden Jacobus and freshman Ella Montano each turned in outstanding performances at the 3C2A State Swimming & Diving Championships Thursday through Saturday at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa. Jacobus was named the Co-Men's Diver of the Year with a gold and a silver medal while Montano placed in three events, each in the A-Final. Freshman Wyatt Dingman also placed in both diving events for Ventura at the championships.

VC Completes WSC Championships with Strong PerformancesApril 20, 2024The VC men's and women's swimming and diving teams produced more strong performances Saturday to conclude the Western State Conference Championships at the Ventura Aquatic Center. Ella Montano claimed her second gold medal of the meet Saturday while Nick Santander won silver. Michael Soho and Luigi Trave each claimed bronze medals Saturday to lead the VC men to a second place team finish. The Pirate women came in fourth in the championships.

Pirates Continue Strong Performances at WSC FinalsApril 19, 2024The VC men's and women's swimming and diving teams continued to produced strong performances Friday on the second day of the Western State Conference Championships at the Ventura Aquatic Center. Ella Montano won gold in the 100-yard breast stroke while Cameron Habib and Nick Santander each claimed silver in the 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke events, respectively.

VC Men 2nd, Women 4th After Day 1 of WSC FinalsApril 18, 2024The Ventura College men's and women's swimming and diving teams are hosting the Western State Conference Championships with the men in second place and the women in fourth after the first of three days of competition at the Ventura Aquatic Center. Michael Soho and Ella Montano led their respective teams, each earning individual silver medals while swimming legs on two different relay teams for the Pirates.

Jacobus Claims SoCal Diving Gold, Dingman Qualifies for StateApril 12, 2024VC's Ayden Jacobus won two gold medals Friday, winning the Southern California 1m and 3m diving championships. The wins also combined for conference gold in the upcoming Western State Conference Championships next week. Wyatt Dingman, meanwhile, also qualified for the state championships with his performance in the two events in Long Beach.

Ventura Swimmers & Divers Compete at PCC InvitationalApril 06, 2024The Pirates' men's and women's swimming and diving teams competed at the Pasadena Invitational held at East Los Angeles College Thursday through Saturday with the men placing third of nine teams and the women coming in seventh of 10. Carlos Gonzalez scored in four individual events for the VC men and Sarah Glassman led the Pirate women scoring in five individual events.

Pirate Swimmers Travel to NorCal for Miyashiro InviteMarch 23, 2024Ventura's men's and women's swimming and diving teams made the trek to Northern California for the weekend to compete in the Bob Miyashiro Invitational at San Rosa Junior College. Ayden Jacobus led the men's effort winning the 1m and 3m diving events while Carlos Gonzalez scored in three individual races. Cassidy Yanca was tops for the women scoring in two individual events and Sarah Glassman placed in both diving competitions.

Ventura Men Capture WSC #1, Women 3rdFebruary 23, 2024The Pirates' men's and women's swimming and diving teams had a solid performance Friday at the Western State Conference No. 1 meet at Santa Monica Friday with the men winning the five-team competition and the women coming in third. Cameron Habib led the VC men with a pair of gold medal performances while Elle Montano also finished first in a pair of individual events. Luigi Travi, Merrick Giles and Michael Soho also won events for the men.

Pirates' Swim & Dive Teams Open '24 at Larry Baratte InviteFebruary 10, 2024The Ventura College men's and women's swimming and diving teams opened their 2024 season Saturday hosting the Western State Conference Larry Baratte Invitational at the Ventura Aquatic Center. Wyatt Dingman and Ella Montano both produced gold medal performances to lead the way for VC. The Pirate men finished fourth out of nine competing teams while the Ventura women were fifth of 10 teams.
