Pirate Harriers Finish Strong at State ChampionshipsNovember 22, 2014The Ventura College women's cross country team completed their team goal for the year, competing at the CCCAA State Cross Country Championships, held at Woodward Park in Fresno Saturday morning. In a fiercely contested team battle won by Mt. San Antonio, the Pirates placed 22nd out of 28 teams, putting the cap on a successful season.

VC Women's Cross Country, Anthony Rivas Qualify for SoCalsOctober 24, 2014The Ventura College women’s cross country team punched their ticket to the Southern California finals with a fourth place team finish in the Western State Conference championships Friday at Arroyo Verde Park. On the men’s side, Anthony Rivas qualified for the regionals as an individual as the Pirate men finished on the outside of the qualifying teams.

Pirate Harriers Run on the Beach in Santa BarbaraOctober 10, 2014The Ventura College men's and women's cross country teams participated in the Santa Barbara City College Invitational Friday on a course that included 1200m of run on soft sand within 50 meters of the Pacific Ocean. The women did not have enough runners to post a team score while the men finished 12th of the 13 competing teams.

Pirate Harriers Second at Bakersfield InvitationalSeptember 26, 2014The Pirate men's and women's cross country teams traveled north on I-99 to compete in the annual Bakersfield Invitational at the Kern County Soccer Complex Friday. Bakersfield won both men's and women's races defeating the Pirates 16 to 43 while the Pirate men fell 17 to 38.

Pirates Run at SoCal Preview in Van NuysSeptember 19, 2014The Ventura men’s and women’s cross country teams competed in the Southern California Preview, a precursor to the state qualifier in November, at Woodley Park in Van Nuys. The Pirate women turned in a solid race, tying for ninth place of the 31 competing teams, while the VC men finished 23rd of the 29 teams.

Pirate Women 3rd, Men finish 5th at Rio Hondo InvitationalSeptember 05, 2014The Ventura College men and women’s cross country teams balanced the challenging hills of Arroyo Verde Park in their opener last week with a flat and fast course at the Rio Hondo Invitational at East Los Angeles’ Legg Lake Friday, with the women placing third (of 12 competing teams) and the men fifth (of 11 teams). Megan Kearney and Jaime Luna paced the Pirate harriers.

Pirates Open 2014 Season at Home InvitationalAugust 29, 2014As they have done for the last 30 years, the Ventura College men and women’s cross country teams opened their 2014 season running at Arroyo Verde Park at the Ventura Invitational. Led by sophomore Maria Villalobos, the women finished fifth while Anthony Rivas led the men’s eighth place finish.
