Baseball Transfers 10 Players from 2014 TeamAugust 10, 2015The Ventura College baseball team is proud to announce that 10 players form the 2015 team will be transferring to four year schools to continue their academic and athletic careers in the the coming academic year. It is the third consecutive season the Pirates will transfer at least 10 student athletes to continue their academic and athletic pursuits.

VC Baseball Falls in Season FinaleApril 24, 2015Through an up and down game, the Pirate baseball team never gave up the fight, ultimately falling 12-7 to conference champion Oxnard College Friday in VC's season finale at Pirate Park. Freshman first baseman Codi Santana had three hits, including a pair of doubles, with two RBI while sophomore outfielder Bradley Fullerton had two hits with three RBI.

Baseball Falls to Conference Front-Runner Oxnard, 8-2April 23, 2015With a chance to affect he Western State Conference North Division title chase, the Pirate baseball team lost to front-running Oxnard College Thursday 8-2 in the team's final road game of the season. Catcher Ryan Coker had two hits, including a double, and two RBI to lead the VC offense.

Pirates Lose Lead Late, Fall at Santa Barbara 5-4April 21, 2015The Pirate baseball team held a 4-2 lead heading into the bottom of the sixth inning before allowing the tying run in the seventh and the winning run in the ninth in their 5-4 walk-off loss at Santa Barbara Tuesday afternoon. Blake Diaz was 2-3 with a walk and an RBI and Adam Maciel also had two hits, including a triple, while scoring once.

VC Comeback Falls Short Against Santa BarbaraApril 18, 2015The Pirate baseball team made a strong comeback Saturday afternoon, falling a run short in their 6-5 loss against Santa Barbara at Pirate Park. Codi Santana was 2-4 with a pair of RBI while Robert Stephan had a hit and a walk and scored twice.

Long Day Becomes Longer for Pirate BaseballApril 16, 2015A long day became longer for the Ventura College baseball team as they let a 4-1 advantage slip away in the seventh inning, then lost 5-4 in 17 innings Thursday against Cuesta College at Pirate Park. Robert Stephan had three hits and scored a run to lead VC. The game was the longest in VC history, besting last year's 16-inning affair with Cuesta.

Baseball Falls at Cuesta, 5-1April 14, 2015The Pirate baseball team traveled to San Luis Obispo on Tuesday, falling to the Cuesta Cougars 5-1. Dylan Colman had a pair of hits for VC and scored their only run of the game while Codi Santana had the RBI.

Baseball's Offense Not Enough in 9-8 Extra-Inning LossApril 11, 2015Some say it's just J.C. baseball. The Pirates exploded for five runs in the fourth inning, and three more in the eighth. They recorded 15 hits and seven different players scored a run. But it was not enough as they lost 9-8 in 10 innings at Los Angeles Pierce College Saturday in Woodland Hills. It's J.C. baseball.

Pirates Take Season Series From RaidersApril 10, 2015The VC baseball team defeated Moorpark 10-5 Friday afternoon to take the season series from their cross-county rivals. Codi Santana was 4-5, including a double, with an RBI and a run scored while Ryan Coker had a single and a double with a run scored and two runs batted in. Jackson Simonsgaard pitched a complete game for the win.

Pirates Fall to Brahmas ThursdayApril 09, 2015The Ventura College baseball team stayed close with Los Angeles Pierce College Thursday before the Brahmas put up a five-spot in the sixth inning to pull away. The Pirates ultimately fell by a final score of 8-1. Jordan Simon was 3-4 at the plate for VC, scoring the team's only run.

Baseball's Win Streak Ends at ComptonApril 04, 2015The Pirate baseball team's three game winning streak came to an end Saturday with a 9-4 non-conference loss at El Camino-Compton Center. Bradley Fullerton was 2-3, including a double, with two RBI and a run scored while Tony Fonzo was 2-4 with a pair of doubles while scoring twice.

Baseball Wins Third Straight Game, 8-5 Over PCCApril 02, 2015Trailing 3-0, the Ventura College baseball team scored six runs in the bottom of the third and never looked back in their 8-5 victory over Pasadena City College Thursday afternoon at Pirate Park. Eight players scoed a run, six players had a hit and Colton Follett managed five innings giving up three runs with three strike outs to pick up the win, the team's third straight victory.

VC Scores Three in the Ninth for Come-From-Behind WinMarch 31, 2015The Pirate baseball team was the recipient of good fortune Tuesday in their 6-5 win over West Hills College in Coalinga. Dylan Colman reached base on a two-run error, then scored on a wild pitch, all in the ninth inning, as VC came from two runs down to capture the win.

Jackson Simonsgaard gave up two runs over five innings to pick up the win while Dylan Colman had a pair of hits with an RBI to lead the offense.

Pirates Can't Cash in Runners Against BulldogsMarch 21, 2015The Ventura College baseball team had a runner on base in all but the first inning Saturday afternoon, but could only cash in one run in their 2-1 loss to Allan Hancock College at Pirate Park. Greg Minier had a solid start of six innings of work while allowing a pair of runs, but the Pirates could not help him pick up the victory.

Tony Fonzo was 2-4 with a pair of doubles and two runs scored to lead Ventura.

Pirates Can't Keep Up With Condors in 7-3 LossMarch 17, 2015The Pirate baseball team returned home Tuesday, but was unable to keep up with the rival Oxnard Condors in their 7-3 loss Tuesday at Pirate Park. Michael Volaski had two hits with an RBI and a run scored while Ryan Coker was 1-2 with two walks, a run scored, and an RBI.

VC Baseball Falls at Oxnard, 9-4March 14, 2015After taking an early 1-0 lead, the Pirates could not hold on, falling 9-4 at Oxnard College Saturday in Western State Conference play. The Ventura offesne struggles, producing just four hits, all singles, in the game. Meanwhile, VC used seven pitchers to complete the game.

Baseball Falls at Santa BarbaraMarch 12, 2015A game after shutting out Santa Barbara City College, the Pirates dropped at 12-1 decision to the Vaqueros on Thursday afternoon at SBCC's Pershing Park. The Pirates were limited to four singles in the game, scoring their one run in the top of the ninth inning.

Pelupessy Brilliant on the Mound for Pirate WinMarch 10, 2015Adisson Pelupessy was virtually unhitable Tuesday afternoon. Making his third start of the year for the Ventura baseball team, the freshman from Buena High School gave up just three hits, struck out three and walked none in facing two batters over the minimum in VC's 3-0 shutout victory over Santa Barbara.

Pirate Bats Silenced at CuestaMarch 05, 2015The Pirate baseball team left its offense at home on their trip to San Luis Obispo Thursday to face the Cuesta Cougars. VC managed just one hit and three walks in their 3-0 loss tin Western State Conference North Division action. Tony Fonzo's fourth-inning double was the only hit for the Pirates.

Pirates Comeback in 14-9 Win Over MoorparkFebruary 26, 2015The Pirate baseball team found itself down 4-0 in the middle of the first, 5-1 an inning later, and 8-3 in the middle of the third, but responded by scoring 10 straight runs in their 14-9 comeback victory over Moorpark at Pirate Park Thursday. Taylor Campos was 2-3 with a walk, four RBI and a run scored as VC won for the third time in their last four outings.

Pirate Baseball Falls at MoorparkFebruary 24, 2015In their first visit to Moorpark in three years after the Raiders' baseball program was suspended due to budget concerns, the Ventura College baseball team fell to the hosts 5-0 Tuesday afternoon. The game was a scoreless pitcher's duel into the seventh when Moorpark rallied for five consecutive hits with one out to break the game open.

VC Baseball Wins Second Straight, Defeat Citrus 6-2February 21, 2015After spotting the visiting Citrus Owls two runs in the first inning, VC closed with six unanswered runs to post a 6-2 victory Saturday afternoon at Pirate Park. Adisson Pelupessy threw eight solid innings, giving up just two hits after the first frame, in picking up his first collegiate pitching win. Bradley Fullerton was 3-4 with two RBI and a run scored.

Colton Follett scattered fourhits over 6.1 innings to pick up the win for Ventrua. Tony Fonzo had three hits, including an double, and an RBI to lead the offense while Dylan Coleman scored both runs for the Pirates.

Pirates Blanked by Bulldogs, 4-0.February 17, 2015The Pirates knocked on the door several times during the afternoon, but never got the big hit they needed in a 4-0 loss to Allan Hancock College Tuesday at Pirate Park. Ventura had runners in scoring position in six different innings but failed to plate a run in the game. Dylan Coleman led VC with three hits in the game.

VC Drops WSC Opener in Santa MariaFebruary 14, 2015The Pirate baseball team opened Western State Conference play in Santa Maria Saturday, falling at Allan Hancock College 5-1. Dylan Coleman had a pair of hits for VC (1-7) while Carlos Sanchez doubled and walked. Adisson Pelupessy doubled and scored the Pirates' lone run.
