Pirate sophomore Shelby Jackson set a new school record in the 200-yard butterfly Saturday on the final day of the WSC Championships. The VC women came i third and the men seventh in the penultimate event of the season.

Shelby Jackson highlighted the final day of the Western State Conference championships with a new school record in the 200-yard butterfly as Ventura's women's swimming and diving team placed third and the men finished seventh in the three-day affair at LA Valley. Jackson broke the record in her morning qualifier and claimed second in the finals for the women's best finish of the day while Carlos Gonzalez led the men for the third consecutive day.

Jackson finished the 200-yard fly in 2:16.88 in her morning preliminary race, breaking Paige Treloar-Ballard's mark of 2:25.03 set in 2017. In the final, Jackson was a bit slower, but still claimed the silver medal for VC's best individual finish of the day.

Allison Donnelly started the final session of the three-day meet finishing fourth in the 1650-yard freestyle and Cassidy Yanca came in seventh. Ahna Davis was eighth in the 200-yard backstroke with Caitlyn Hilgenberg touching in ninth place. In the 200-yard breast stroke, Stephany Dijar finished eighth and Emily Baughn was 14th for the Pirate women.
