The Ventura College volleyball team stayed the course with a 25-21, 25-19, 25-13 victory over Allan Hancock College Friday in Santa Maria. Kelly Rodriguez had nine kills and two blocks to lead the way while Shantalle Ruiz recorded eight winners and three blocks. Faith Mackie had 18 digs and Gabby Boado handed out 19 assists as VC (16-3, 6-0) remained atop the Western State Conference standings with its 11th consecutive victory.
Raphaella Rosales had 14 digs and 13 assists against the Bulldogs while Morgan Gallagher recorded seven kills. Boado also added 11 digs and a pair of services aces to the victory and Brooklyn Wallet and Kasie Spencer contributed five and four kills, respectively.
The Pirates return for their final regular season home appearance on Wednesday Nov. 7 against Cuesta College. The match is slated to begin at 7:00 pm at the Athletic Event Center.
