Pirates BVB Splits Pair of WSC Matches
March 21, 2025The VC beach volleyball team split a pair of matches Friday at Moorpark. Ventura defeated the host Raiders 3-2 before falling to Santa Monica by the same score. The Pirates' No. 2 duo of Talia Behrens and Sadie Lishman won both matches on the day without dropping a set while the No. 5 pair of Liz Schalde and Daphne Raymond both won a pair of contests, the second in three sets. -
Pirates' BVB Fares Well in loss to Div. I Nebraska
March 20, 2025The Pirate beach volleyball team battled NCAA Division I Nebraska Thursday in Santa Monica, faring well against the Cornhuskers in the 5-0 setback. Shai Daniels and Viola Barrios had an excellent opening set at no. 1 while Liz Schalde and Daphne Raymond held an early 11-2 lead at No. 5.

Ventura Begins Conference with Two Wins
March 14, 2025The VC beach volleyball team opened Western State Conference play on the road at their home courts with a pair of wins. With Glendale hosting at the Ventura Harbor Cove, VC defeated Cuesta 4-1 and the host Vaqueros 5-0 Friday. VC's No. 4 pair, Skylar Rutherford and Lexi Brinkman, were among three duos who won both contests on the day.

VC Beach Volleyball Wins Two in Home Debut
February 28, 2025The VC beach volleyball team returned home for the first time in 2025, defeating Desert 5-0 and Mt. San Jacinto 4-1 at the Ventura Harbor Cove Courts Friday. The Pirates' No. 3 team of Josephine Rausch and Giannamay Tayco were one of four Ventura duos with a pair of wins on the day.

Pirates Take Two in Huntington Beach
February 21, 2025The Pirates beach volleyball team wrapped up their season opening road stint with two wins Friday against Palomar, 4-1, and host Golden West, 5-0, in Huntington Beach. Ventura's Nos. 2, 3 and 4 pairs, Talia Behrens and Saide Lishman, Josephine Rausch and Giannamay Tayco, and Skylar Rutherford and Lexi Brinkman all won two matches on the day.

Beach Volleyball Wins Two in the Rain at El Camino
February 12, 2025The Pirates' beach volleyball team traveled to play El Camino and Riverside in Torrance Wednesday as a steady rain started to fall. With heavy and wet sand-covered volleyballs in play, VC swept past Riverside 5-0 without dropping a set. The Pirates and Warriors battled in the second match of the day with Ventura coming out on top 3-2.

Beach VB Falls in Close Decision
February 07, 2025Playing Grossmont for the first time since the teams tangled for the 2023 3C2A state championship, the Pirates' beach volleyball team dropped a 3-2 decision against the Griffins at Moorpark on Friday. Shai Daniels and Viola Barrios claimed the No. 1 match while Skylar Rutherford and Lexi Brinkman swept for a win at No. 4. VC lost two of the three points to the Griffins in three-set matches.

Beach Volleyball Wins Two on Opening Day
January 31, 2025The Ventura College beach volleyball team opened their season with two wins at Rosie's Dog Beach in Long Beach against Cerritos and Golden West, winning 3-2 and 4-1, respectively. The Pirates have a young roster, returning only three sophomores and adding two transfers and ten freshmen. Two of the first-year players, Shai Daniels and Viola Barrios, debuted at the No. 1 spot and went undefeated on the day, winning 21-12, 21-16, and again 21-12, 21-16.
